About the Project

Skyridge is a mixed residential community in Squamish by Diamond Head Development, set high on the bench with 360° Sea-to-Sky views, forest trails, and a landscaped central park. Completed in 2020, it brings together 20 duplexes, 26 townhomes, and 44 Skysuite condos — 90 homes built to DHD’s Built Green® Inside + Out standard.

Tantalus Floors supplied and installed the hardwood across the community: two EUROSTYLE Signature Brushed engineered oak selections — Oak Granito and Oak Chiaro — floated throughout the homes for a warm, brushed-matte finish that suits a green build and a mountain setting.

The Challenge

The Challenge

Three building types — duplexes, townhomes, and stacked condos — meant subfloor conditions and schedules varied across the site. The floor had to stay stable through Squamish’s coastal-mountain humidity, wear well across 90 homes, and meet the low-emission bar a Built Green® community sets for indoor air.

How We Solved It

Our Solution

We supplied and floated two EUROSTYLE Signature Brushed engineered oak selections — Oak Granito and Oak Chiaro — in a wide-plank format with a brushed, supermatt lacquer and nano top coat. Both are real white-oak floors built for everyday life and a greener home.

Engineered construction and careful prep are what let one floor read consistently across duplexes, townhomes, and condos — and keep doing it for decades.

Built Green

Flooring Chosen for a Greener Build

Skyridge isn’t just well-sited — it’s Built Green® Inside + Out certified, with energy-labelled homes and a Best Environmental Initiative nod to show for it. Flooring is a quiet but real part of that: the engineered oak we installed is low-emission (E1 / CARB Phase II), finished with a supermatt lacquer, and built from a thin layer of real white oak over an engineered core that uses far less slow-growth hardwood than a solid floor. It’s the kind of choice that adds up across 90 homes.
